Vehicle Description This 1962 Ford Econoline Van is a one of a kind machine and absolutely gorgeous! If you've ever wanted to make people smile wherever you drive, you need to experience life behind this head turner.
This van has been my baby and I've meticulously maintained it, but we just moved into a new house that doesn't have garage space and this thing is just too beautiful to be outside year round and risk the rust.
Fun fact:
this is the style of van that the Mystery Machine in Scooby Doo was modeled after.
Details:
200ci 6cyl engine with less than 350 miles on it Small parts kit on 3 speed transmission (Three on the Tree) Brand new clutch Fresh oil change Updated single muffler with dual outlets Custom front bumper with cut outs for fog lights Completely repainted in 2018 (inside and out), including a beautiful beige pinstripe that runs along the outside Fully remodeled interior including hardwood floor, shiplap siding and white ceiling.
Inside floor is rhino blasted underneath the hard wood Interior walls are insulated with Dynamat and insulation to reduce noise and keep the van cool/warm Restored a bench seat from a 1965 Econoline SuperVan, had it reupholstered with a beautiful walnut vinyl and installed.
It's a stadium back seat which means that you can face it forward, or flip the seat backwards open the back doors and have a perfect tailgating mobile.
Installed a discrete backup camera with a screen that lives on the rearview mirror Tires have plenty of life Drives straight and true Includes a fitted California Car Cover ($500 value) Includes a GoalZero Yeti 400 portable power station and Nomad 50 solar panel ($550 value) The blinker wand is sensitive.
It works fine, you just don't need to give it much pressure to engage the blinkers The engine runs a little loud (which I liked), but if you want to make it a quieter ride, you just need to have the exhaust pipe fitted with a sensor cover (because it's a modern exhaust pipe).
I was quoted $400 to have it done.
I've replaced or enhanced the seals on the doors where needed, but small amounts of moisture can still get in if you blast it with water.
I don't drive it in hard rain and only hand wash it and it does just fine.
