Health Information Management Manager
Fairfax Behavioral Health Fairfax Behavioral Health Kirkland, WA Kirkland, WA Full-time Full-time From $25 an hour From $25 an hour 12 days ago 12 days ago 12 days ago Position Summary The Health Information Manager assists the HIM Director with establishing and maintaining an audit schedule and conducts compliance audits, and may conduct billing statement audits to evaluate network wide compliance with governmental entities such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
The Health Information Manager is also responsible for carrying out the activities of the Health Information Services Department in the maintenance of all patient medical records information, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies and within The Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care.
Coding is required and position is on-site.
Qualifications Education:
Associates in Applied Science or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Experience:
At least two years of experience in a medical office/behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA laws and regulations preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Keyboarding speed of at least 40 wpm preferred.
Solid experience and familiarity with computer systems, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail preferred.
Good organizational skills which enable one to work quickly and accurately with a large amount of incoming requests; ability to provide a positive customer service orientation toward patients, former patients, their families and caregivers.
Ability to interact positively and confidently with doctors, professional medical staff and other team members.
May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours; flexibility with additional projects/assignments.
Licensure/Certification:
RHIT or RHIA preferred.
