Job SummaryApplies prescribed low levels of ionizing radiation for Bone Density Scans at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for diagnostic purposes under the prescription of a physician.
Primary Duties Sets, adjusts, and controls a variety of electronic equipment to apply low levels of ionizing radiation for radiographic Bone Density examinations.
Analyzes patient's general body size, physical condition, and age to accurately apply Bone Density procedure.
Measures and selects proper electronics and technical factors to provide a diagnostic Bone Density Scan Always maintains patient's privacy and confidentiality.
Constantly aware of patient's dignity.
Performs designated review of patient's chart ensuring all necessary documents are present and correct (i.
e.
:
orders and outside imaging).
Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or
Experience:
REQUIRED for the position Registered with State of Washington as an X-ray Technician.
Certification by International Society for Clinical Densitometry (Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist - CBDT) or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire DESIRED for the position Bone Density experience Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare experience and/or patient care background Knowledge of EMR such as Epic Recommended Skills Basic Life Support Clinical Works Confidentiality Electronics Health Care Imaging Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
