Leggett & Platt We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Supply Chain Manager within our Purchasingteam to help support our Aerospace business. At L Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. How high are our quality standards, you ask? So much so, that we have products on-board the Space Launch System with NASA, as well as the F-15 and F-35 fighter jets! As a Supply Chain Manager you will have the opportunity to use strategic thinking to drive company growth. The team you will be working with is hard-working, and values active participation on the team . So, what will you be doing as a Supply Chain Manager?
Identify requirements to order materials and purchase accordingly to achieve balance between purchase price, inventory holding and risk level
Negotiate with internal parties to balance desired purchases with identified requirements
Purchase other items or services as required, including outside services, shop materials, safety and office supplies
Raise orders and process transactions in the relevant business systems
Operate within a Sarbanes Oxley environment
Liquidate surplus existing inventory
Source raw materials and sub-contracted services in support of customer requested quotes
Generate reports regarding materials and purchases as required
Provide leadership to support personnel as required To be successful in this role, youll need:
Bachelors degree in a technical field
5 years in aerospace purchasing or supply chain management, including people management
Strong interpersonal skills with diverse audience
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel
Experience purchasing raw materials such as metallic sheets and coils from mills
Experience of multiple units of measure in a mixed manufacturing environment, such as weight, width, and gauge
Experience with demand-based supply inventory planning and ERP/MRP based purchase environments required
Supplier negotiations experience and skills regarding purchase price, payment terms and other conditions Things we consider a plus
