The Senior Software Development Engineer position is a key contributor to Verity s industry-leading 340B platform, and responsible for designing, developing and maintaining advanced transactional backend services operating on complex data models.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and implement reliable, scalable backend solutions to business requirements following established design patterns and developing new approaches as neededCollaborate with Product Management in clarifying business and product requirements, and drive technical approaches to satisfying requirementsHelp develop plans and estimates for deliverablesCommunicate progress, issues and risks in a timely mannerCollaborate with development team members on design, task sharing and problem solvingAssist in the growth of junior developersPrioritize quality and collaborate with the software testing team to ensure prospective functionality is mutually understoodCollaborate with DevOps team members to define effective system monitoring in computing environments and software deployment requirementsActively contribute to improving software development processes (e.

sprints, version control, code reviews, unit testing, build/release)Lead on software engineering and security best practicesBe responsible for project success (technical and stakeholder satisfaction)Protect the confidentiality of sensitive and/or proprietary company and customer information, including patient health dataSupport and promote the Verity values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basisJOB EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSBS or degree in related field or equivalent experienceA strong foundation in object-oriented design and languages; experience with Golang strongly preferred10
years of experience building enterprise backends and service-oriented solutions supporting large-scale backend distributed systems and web-based applicationsTrack record of designing for high scale and fault tolerance Highly proficient at working with complex data sets, ideally using NoSQL technologies like MongoDBProficient with current industry-leading development toolsKnowledge of cloud-centric design patterns Expertise on AWS technologies desiredPropensity for curiosity and critical thinking with an interest in large-scale distributed servicesStrong problem solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to be effective with minimal supervisionAbility to collaborate effectively with team members in a scrum-based environmentCapable of adapting to changing requirements and business processesExperience developing applications for pharmacy or healthcare industries preferredIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 123,400 - 205,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
